2007

This is the last post for today- I promise.

I just wanted to touch upon some of my thoughts and feelings from the last year, and for the year to come.

2006 will always be a wonderful and sad year for me (for us- I guess I'm an "us" now- hard to get used to that).

- The year started off on three very sad notes. The deaths of Aunt Tib, Uncle Ed and Aunt Helen. All three were huge influences on my life (and I know in Kevin's as well), they are missed greatly every day. But, I know that they are in a better place. And I know if I live a good life (and trust in God) like they did I will see them again some day.

- Around May I was disappointed to find out that I was found "redundent" by my school division- meaning that they had a surplus of teachers and did not need me for the 2006-2007 school year. I was devistated and didn't know what I was going to do. Less then a week after I recieved this news, I was contacted by the division again, saying that they had a position for me- but it was out of town (about a 30 minute drive), and it was only half time. I was so happy to have anything that I jumped on the opprotuntiy. Less then a week after I accepted the 50% job I was contacted yet again asking if I would be willing to work full time (permanent- meaning that I was now in a full time position that could not be taken away from me). God is good.

- In June our realtor called to say that he may have found us a house. Dad and I went to see it (Kevin was at work). I loved it right away. It was in an ideal location and was exactly what we were looking for. Kevin saw it the next day and within 24 hours we had bought our first home.

- In July Mom, Dad, Brett, and I headed for one last trip (just the 4 of us) to Disney World. We have been going there for many years, but this trip was bitter sweet for us. We knew that we would be back again- and next time with a newbee (Kevin has never been there before), but we also new that is was an end of an era- which was sad. All in all a great family trip, filled with lots of laughs and many memories.

- In August Kevin moved into our new home. Grandma and Grandpa came over to help me and Kevin paint and do odds and ends that needed to be done. It was very exciting.

- In September I started my new job at Briercrest. I am teaching K-3. Yes, that is Kindergarten, Grade 1, Grade 2 and Grade 3. It is a huge challenge, but I am learning every day. After teaching 4 grades at once I think I can handel anything that comes my way.

- In October Kevin and I recieved some bitter-sweet news. We were expecting. We were very unsure about our news. But our families and friends held us up and supported us. We are very blessed. With this news came the replanning of a wedding that we thought would be in May. Instead it was moved up to November.

- On November 12th we were married in front of very close friends and family. It was a perfect wedding, and I couldn't have asked for anything more. I not only married the man I love, but my best friend.

- December was a blurr, as any teacher can tell you. We had our first Christmas together as husband and wife, and I really enjoyed it. We got the house all decked out in it's finest Christmas garb. Ryan and Heidi's wedding was a wonderful way to end 2006 and bring in 2007. The last few weeks have been a time for family and relaxing. Just taking some time to reflect on a whirlwind year.

Now my thoughts for 2007-

I am really looking forward to 2007. I'm sure it will be filled with ups and downs just like every other year- I am hoping for way more ups then downs. The next three months with fly by as we anticipate the birth of our baby. My belly is growning every day- so by April I feel like I will be huge. We are very much looking forward to becomeing parents, and watching our child grow over the years. Please pray for us in the upcoming months as we prepare for the arrival of our little one.
I hope that 2007 brings you as much joy as it will bring us.
